2021 Meets and Events
SSST Home Meet June 25th-27th (Teams that have shown interest include RAD's seasonal swimmers, Scott Valley and Weaverville). We will be COVID compliant, will be requiring distancing and use of masks and meet will be by invitation only (to teams whose COVID numbers are acceptable/comparable or better than our own)
Weaverville July 16th-18th (this will be by invite only and COVID compliant as well although Weaverville has already expressed interest in SSST's participation)
SSST County Meet at Weed's Bel Air Pool Saturday, July 24th. This will be similar to how we ran the meet last year with Scott Valley (COVID compliant, social distancing, masks, etc)
NVALS July 31st-August 1st - the details on this are being worked out since this has historically been a large event, it will likely take place on these dates but split between two locations and will also be COVID compliant
Swim meets are a great opportunity for swimmers to bond with each other, to improve their skills and to be rewarded for their efforts both as individuals and as a team. They have such a great experience getting heat or place ribbons during a meet and can’t wait to show them off to their peers. The bond these swimmers form is frequently seen in the off-season as well when our athletes seek each other out and provide support and enthusiasm for success in other endeavors whether it be sports, academics or the arts. Swim meets are a great opportunity for parents to bond as well and we frequently set up a “tent city” on or near the pool deck and get to hang out and support our kids throughout the meet. The kids have such a fun time at swim meets as well and it is always entertaining for the adults to see the activities they come up with to keep themselves occupied between races.
